Train chokes for standardized safety

REO has set itself the task of helping to ensure that trains are safer today and in the future. With special chokes for rail technology, we ensure that a safe operation is possible and EMC problems are eliminated at source.

Thus, voltage changes, short circuits and other phenomena that occur in dealing with electricity, does not endanger crew members and passengers. Compliance with international standards such as EN 45545 or EN 60310, the use of the latest technologies and decades of experience make REO a strong partner.

    Three-phase mains choke with indirect cooling 4% Uk

    CNW MD 903
    • Nominal Voltage: 400 V
    • Rated current: 200 - 1200 A
    • Inductance: 0,024 - 0,147 mH

    Power Noise Reduction - save up to 20% energy costs.


    A mains choke relieved the supply network by compensating the harmonics reactive power. The harmonics and commutation notches are reduced strongly. By efficiently cooling the power losses is dissipated up to 80% in cooling and reduces heating of switching cabinets. The targeted derivative of the losses via the cooling circuit prevents that losses are discharged into the environment. By using water cooling the temperatures in the components can be reduced greatly - this means less stress for the insulation materials and a longer service life.


    Starting currents and current peaks are reduced up to 60%. Mains chokes helps to comply with international power quality standards IEEE 519 or EN 61000-3-2.
