Power Quality

Today there are more power consuming products than ever before and many of these contain rectifiers, switch-mode power supplies and are protected by uninterruptible power supplies, which all contribute to disturbances on the public supply network and so it is essential that the significance of power quality is not overlooked. Some of the most important questions for the future will be whether an industrial location can be protected against mains disturbances and how much disturbance is being generated and power being lost internally because of bad power factor and harmonic distortions.
