Network filter choke for use with 15 kV supply transformers used on European locomotives. Has no stray-fields and so the inductance is very constant. This type of choke is used extensively as a filter component in swinging-circuits used in drives and power supplies with static inverters. The coil layout illiminates stray-fields and minimises losses at high frequencies. During a short-circuit the stray fields are also very small .
